Why Did The 2014 IFBB Asian Pro Show Flop???
Sometimes an idea to host an IFBB pro show in a new territory does not always go over well. People at the 2014 Asian Pro event this past week were horribly shocked to find that there were only 5 competitors competing despite the high amount of prize money offered. The truth is that the location was simply not easily accessible to competitors and very restrictive along with the overall expenses of just making the trip itself. A round trip to China via plane will run you in the area of 2000 dollars…add the additional expenses of food, supplements, and lodging and it could easily go to about 5000 dollars. In addition to the high cost of travel, China is a communist country so getting a passport to the region can be long and tedious in the United States. Simply put, this event was doomed from the beginning from the lack of marketing and promotion to poor implementation of resources into attracting sponsors.
Oh well, maybe next year…….
